Ma non traina particolarmente le vendite di Wii U.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze ha debuttato al secondo posto delle classifiche di vendita giapponesi, risultando secondo solo a Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Wonderful Mysterious Keys per 3DS.

Le unità mosse dal gioco sono comunque 35.717, un risultato non eclatante che non ha dato particolare impulso alle vendite di Wii U.
